The Center Harper Hellions #1 edition by Molly Stokes Contemporary Romance eBooks
The Center is Molly Stokes debut book, and tells the story of college kids Nora and Adam. Nora is still recovering from a bad relationship, and Adam is looking forward to the NFL. I like that this is a sweet story, but without the angst-y drama that normally comes with college books.Adam has been a player (but stops when he meets Nora), but the author does not emphasize his former ways. Nora is a sweetheart who had bad luck, and I'm happy for her that she meets somebody like Adam. Since this is the first book in a series about a female soccer team, other introduced characters will probably get their own book. I'm curious who the next couple will be.
My only issue with The Center is the sometimes very formal way of speaking. I'm pretty sure college kids don't speak like that.

The Center Harper Hellions #1 edition by Molly Stokes Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
This is the first book in the Harper Hellions series and it’s a Standalone. The Center catches your attention from the very start; the characters are young adults, all students attending Harper College, located in New England. As with any good love story there’s a little drama mixed in, just enough to keep you frantically turning the pages.
Nora Lowell has transferred to Harper College her junior year having left her Mid-Western school and controlling, abusive ex-boyfriend, Max, behind. She’s sharing a house with her childhood best friend, Rosa, and two other roommates. The girls are all on the soccer team and Nora plans to try out, too. After what she went through last year, with Max, the last thing on her mind is boys. Nora needs some time alone, not attached to a boyfriend, to focus on school and sports.
“There are people in this world who like to control others and make them feel small, and sometimes you are so shocked that there are people like that, you don’t question it and just let it happen. It doesn’t make you weak or a coward. You got away from him, you left him. You are strong”
Adam Hamilton is the Captain of the Harper Hellions, the school’s hockey team. He’s been drafted to the NHL and will start after graduating. Anyone looking at the young, handsome Canadian would think he’s the luckiest guy alive, with no cares or worries. He puts on a good front and rarely says no to the puck bunnies that are available. He’s not interested in a serious relationship, not after what his ex-girlfriend put him through.
When Adam sees the new girl that moved in across the street he’s immediately attracted to her. And although Nora also likes what she sees she’s committed to being alone for a while. When they’re thrown together, the sparks fly, and the attraction is something they won’t be able to fight. Adam and Nora have a lot of issues to work out and there maybe too many of them to overcome. Especially when Max decides to makes an unexpected appearance.
I loved the story it moves along at a fast pace with a lot of heat! If you love College/Sports romance, this is just the new series to read. There are a lot more characters in the story, various roommates from both houses, and I’m looking forward to reading their own stories. I’m hoping a few turn up in the next book (books?) in this new series. Hooray for the Hellions!
I really enjoyed The Center and now I'll want more in the Harper Hellions series can't wait to see who it's going to be about . I'm a cover lover and this cover is HOT plus the blurb really drew me in adding the little quote at the end had me grinning and wanting to know these characters . Liked the fact that this is in dual point of view it's always good to see from both perspective what they are thinking and doing . Right from the first meeting between Adam and Nora they felt an attraction one was wanting to give into while the other was fighting it but these two find there way into some steamy moments like the closet scene ( fans self ) also there both jocks witch I thought was unique Haven't read a story with that factor . Nora took me some time to connect to but as the story progressed I ended up liking her at the same times understanding why she reacts the way that she does , and adore the relationship she has with her best friend hope to see more from her . Oh my GOSH Adam just pure yumminess when he sets his eyes on the heroine there is no turning back thought it was super hilarious that his friend caught him being a creeper had me dying and boy is this man sex on a hockey stick (wink) hope to see his roommates get their own stories . The sex scenes are really steamy the sexual tension is thick speaking of thick mhmmm the way the tease one another is hot plus the rooms face each others so they kinda peep tom the other . The only thing that wish more of is the end wasn't so rushed but over all good read I'm excited to see whats next for Molly Stokes this is one read you should check it out .

I really enjoyed this book, it is a standalone, but I still can't wait for the next in the series. I fell in love with Nora and Adam, though Nora frustrated me at times, she grew on me throughout the book. There are some dark themes, but the author did a good job of lightening things up when appropriate. The supporting characters were especially good comic relief. Fingers crossed that the next book will star Gunnar!
This novel has two very appealing young people, an awful villain and lots of very explicit sex. I liked that Nora is both an athlete and a smart woman who plans to be a professor. Adam is a hockey player with a chance to play professional sports. The issue of the racy photos is a real cautionary tale these days. Suspense is created in the plot by the question of whether Nora can stand up for herself in a very ugly situation. This is definitely the book for those who like steamy romance with a strong and intelligent young woman.
