Very interesting. Some of the material is somewhat out of date, of course, but there are things in this book that are not included in the run of the mill biography of Abraham Lincoln.
This is an excellent book with lots of carefully researched information. Written at the end of the 19th century, the author made contacts with many of Lincoln's contemporaries - priceless. This book is a keeper, particularly if you are a fan of Mr. Lincoln.
good
The information researched was fresh to me. I have read several books about Lincoln in the past, but not his early days. I especially liked the info provided by Dr. Graham. I did not like how pictures popped up, kind of random. I also thought the writing became circular in that it kept repeating the same info after the middle of the book.
This is an early classic on the life of abraham lincoln. It contains pictures of areas of his life some of which have greatly changed since then. There are also a lot of interesting little details for those interested in the early years of the great emancipator. I think this is a must for any lincolnphile. After having read it one line at "Internet Archive" I bought it and was very satisfied with the book and 's service
Wonderfull picture of Abe Lincoln's early life. I enjoyed her encapsulation of his activities along with her reflections on the character and feelings of a man in development. She writes like she knows the man. Engaging and rewarding reading.
Genetics helped to create the most marvelous president the US has ever seen. Would that we could clone him! But between the covers of this book, we understand just who Abe Lincoln was down to his great, great grandfather.
An easy and relaxing read of Lincoln's experiences as a young man. I enjoyed the author's accounts of the times in which he lived.
