The Sons of Sangue have to walk a line between three worlds. They are vampires who come from the bloodline of one of the originals, Vlad III. They abide by rules of not taking blood from just anyone, only from donor's that have agreed to provide their blood. Then there are the rules of the Motorcycle Club that they must live by. Kane is the president of the MC but often more than not he is breaking his own rules. Along with being vampires and part of a MC they must also coexists with humans without their secrets being revealed.

This story combines all three worlds in an intricate weave. The small town they live in has had three unexplained murders of young blond women. All of whom blood has been completely drained. Where the Son's are tied in is they are all women who either Kane has been with or are his preferred type. The lead detective and her partner are sure the Sons either have knowledge of what is going on or are responsible. But things aren't that simple. Ten years ago Cara Brahnam witnessed Kane in the throes of both feeding and having sex. The sex part didn't bother her but she through she was crazy on the drinking blood part and left town for 10 years. Now she is back as a detective in the small town and is having to face both Kane and vampirism again. What she doesn't realize is Kane has been just as fascinated with her as she was him.

There are plenty of side plots going on throughout from who is really killing the women and why, to the deals the MC makes with other clubs and Cara having to face facts that she is next on the killer's list and having to depend on the one thing she has avoided for 10 years to protect her, Kane.

Even though there is some closure at the end of this book there are many threads still left open that ensure many more books to come.

I have to admit I had a hard time getting through the first book. I had a hard time getting into the characters when they talked the way they did. I felt like the bikers talked more like immature teenagers then the 100 year old sexy vampires they were suppose to be. I kept reading the first books because the steamy scenes were well written and kept my interest just enough to read the 2nd book. I enjoyed Hawks story, and while there was still some strolling immature lines I did feel overall the writing had improved. Now to Gypsy.. This story captured my interest from the start. In fact the book made me go from happy and impressed to upset and angry over and over again. The book took me for a ride which so thoroughly enjoyed. I was so anxious about blonde I had to quit reading to make sure there was a story about him next, and was so upset that the next book wasn't about him (that was until I read through the end and realized the next book actually is about him). I read this 3rd book in 1 day and I immediately bought the 4th book. I have a feeling it's only going to get better from here. Give these books a chance.. They grow on you fast!!

Viper Sons of Sangue is a story of choices of the heart, that are overruled by choices of the mind, which in turn leads to choices of circumstance.
Author Patricia Rasey I loved the array of emotions used to portray Cara and Viper's plight and uncertainties that was pure genius.You paint pictures with your words and transports your readers into the world of your characters "Simply Phenomenal". I thought this book had a lot of potential; unfortunately, it also had some pet peeves in it.

Pick A name for your characters not several. For instance Viper aka Kane, aka Mr. Tepes. Hawk/Kaleb, Gypsy/whatever his name was. This drives me batty. If these guys are in a MC club they are not going to switch out how they use each others names. They are going to be MC name only. It felt like a lot of this book was made up of the names. I also didn't think the way they spoke overall as characters made it seem believable when the called Cara a pig or B****. While possibly in character for a biker, these guys to me did not seem like they talked that way enough for that to be the way the referred to things.

I liked the way they tied the police to the MC gang. I liked the back story and reason for everything happening. It was a fast moving story. I loved Kane and Cara. I thought they were really well done. I would not mind seeing them visited in future books to find out how they progress.

Read the book cover to cover, but I don't have a burning desire to see if the next book is out. I am looking for books that make me die to read the next one. This did not do that for me.
